The need to be Balanced: Principles of Faith

In the last write-up, the need to have balanced knowledge (spiritual and skill) was emphasized. In reality, however the man with only spiritual knowledge becomes frustrated at the success of the skillfully man and decides to emulate him (i.e. he drops the Bible and concentrates on skill only).

This situation is not right. The two (skill and spirituality) must go together. In Mark 4 v35 - 41, when Jesus and the disciples were crossing to the other side in a boat. The disciples rowed in a boat using their skill (some were fishermen), but when the storm came they needed more than their skill to reach the other side. They called to Jesus, he rebuked the wind and asked about their FAITH.

Faith in God is very important in order to maintain the balance. Some of the reasons to have faith in addition to skill is
1. Faith takes you further than your skill
2. Faith takes you faster than your skill 1 Kings 18 v46
3. Faith makes you have better results
4. Faith protects your results

God does not need anything. Acts 17 v25

Value of Balanced Knowledge

Having knowledge is good. However the knowledge has to be a mix of physical and spiritual knowledge to ensure success in this world.

As recorded in Matthew 7 v24-27, but the wise and foolish man built houses. The base on which the house was built was different- rock and sand. A foolish man can be a spiritual person who does not have skills or a knowledgeable person who has no spirituality (God). The two types of foolish men will end up in destruction at ONE attack of the evil ones. However, the wise man builds on his knowledge but depends on God for his sustenance and protection.

The wise man has two sides to his personality. He is a Christian and also an achiever in his field of knowledge. Knowledge of God alone will not ensure success neither will skills and knowledge alone. Balancing the knowledge of God and a skill or knowledge will ensure STEPping UP in life.

Revelation; God can never be explained, He can only reveal himself. Parts of my life should be explainable(e.g. due to skills, connections, etc) but some parts should not be explainable because God lives in me.

Moses had Egyptian education (Acts 7 v22) and used it to lead the people out of Egypt in terms of logistics, arrangement, etc. However, he still needed the pillar of cloud by day and the pillar of fire at night to move to the promised land(Exodus 18 v11).

The third step to building your capacity is Bold Actions. This will be presented at another time.

Walking in the fullness of God

I am created in God's image and likeness. genesis 1 v26.

Being good is the foundation of walking in the fullness of God. Acts 10; 1 Kings 17 v7, Ephesians 2 v10.

To walk in the fullness of God, we follow an example- Jesus Christ - who demonstrated it and recorded in the Bible. there are four requirements

1. Prayer Zechariah 12 v10 and fasting Psalm 63 v1-2

2. Open Heavens Psalm 119; genesis 28 v17; Leviticus 26 v19, Ezekiel 1 v1

3. Spirit of God will come down Luke 24 v49; Ezekiel 37; Acts 11 v19; Luke 1 v35

4. Hear the voice of God John 10

Doing this things in sequence will lead to breakthroughs and a steeping up in the year 2010. It will also allow me to begin to know what is written about me.
